A Tale of Two Coats
Have you ever wanted to meet a real soldier from the Revolutionary War? A Tale of Two Coats presents an exclusive and in-depth story of a real soldier from the Revolutionary War: Colonel John Durkee of Norwich, Connecticut. This program can be conducted in a third-person perspective or a first-person perspective where Dayne, as the role player, assumes the identity of Colonel Durkee himself complete in historic costuming reflecting his role as a military Colonel. This interactive program encourages audience participation in the form of questions and answers to learn more about what life was like 250 years ago and is great for audiences of a variety of ages. This program can also be combined with a book-signing of Dayne's biography on Colonel John Durkee.

Most solo performances last at least 45-60 minutes depending on the venue. A question and answer session at the end of a program is encouraged!

There are two possible structures to solo reenacting performances: First-Person and Third-Person. If done from the first-person perspective, Dayne will assume the identity of his given character and interact with the audience as if he is playing that character in real life. This is done at other museums such as Plimoth Plantation and others. Third-person perspective means Dayne will deliver a program as himself and discuss the historical figure in a lecture format.

Absolutely! The presentations are meant to be interactive so you are encouraged to ask questions either during or after the performance, depending on the setup.

Yes! All solo performances are appropriate for all ages - Dayne can even customize and tweak performances to meet certain criteria.

There is a flat rate of $250.00 to perform "A Tale of Two Coats." This includes time and travel to anywhere in Connecticut. If you have questions about costs, or live outside the Connecticut region, please email dayne@keystohistory.com
